Hi, thanks a lot for your involvement in this project!
Distributing Sacrifices to a broader audience is a real thrill for us and we cannot tell how grateful we are to have you onboard for this.
It is not immediately visible where and how community translation is made available, so let's clarify some points.
All community translation efforts happen here: https://translate.spooky.games.
So please head over to this address if you wish to have the game in the language of your choice.
The translation platform is powered by Weblate, which documentation you might find daunting (https://docs.weblate.org/en/weblate-2.19/user/index.html).
To make it clear, here is a common workflow:
First create an account on https://translate.spooky.games
Right after creation, go to the Profile page and specify the language(s) in which you would like to translate to. Source text will always be in English.
The Dashboard page should now display projects available for the languages you previously chose. If no project is displayed, this may mean we have not launched the translation project in your language (yet!). If so, please email us at we@spooky.games and we will sort this out.
Once you have selected your language, you will have access to all the text of the game, classified by string, i.e. by line of text. For each string to translate you have access to the source text in English but also to the other surrounding text lines, in order to narrow down the context.
From now on the translation begun, select “not translated string”, read the source text and suggest your translation. IMPORTANT : some words and characters must not be translated but must be transcribed as is. Example “:herbs:” or “%s” or “[positive]...[ ]”
Once you’re satisfied with your translation, just suggest it and move on to the next string. You can also suggest another translation for a string already translated by someone else. However remember that we do not speak your language, so don’t hesitate to explain on our forum why we should choose your translation instead of another one.
Thanks a lot for reading this and for your help in this translation!
